The robot is small enough to fit on the edge of a penny!
Is that a tiny crab? No, it’s the world’s smallest remote-controlled walking robot! The mini-robot can walk along the edge of a penny. Scientists from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, have big plans for their little invention. One of its creators, John A. Rogers, says the robot could one day assist with medical operations by getting into parts of the body that doctors can’t easily reach.
“We’d also like to build in radios that allow the robots to ‘speak’ with one another in a team-like fashion,” says Rogers.
