A new airline took to the skies in May. Passengers were treated to scented cushions for napping, tasty snacks, and . . . belly rubs?! They were flying on BARK Air, the world’s first airline created for dogs.

Many airlines allow pups to fly. But most require people to keep small dogs in carrier bags. Bigger canines must travel in crates in the plane’s cargo section.

On BARK Air, dogs of any size can sit next to their human companions. They can also walk around the cabin.

The airline flies from eight cities in the U.S. and Europe. Flying with a four-legged friend isn’t cheap though. A one-way ticket for a dog and its human costs at least $3,000!
