One of a Kind

Connor Wright creates kindness kits for kids in local hospitals and shelters.

Connor Wright is on a mission: He wants to spread kindness to as many people as possible. In 2021, when he was 12, Connor saw how lonely many kids were during the Covid pandemic. So he and his grandmother started making care packages for kids in and around his hometown of Lynnfield, Massachusetts. It wasn’t long before they wanted to do even more—and Connor’s Kindness Project was born.

“Kindness spreads like a ripple effect,” says Connor.

In January of last year, he and his grandmother launched the Kids Kindness Club. Students at local elementary schools take a pledge to do 20 thoughtful things. Those acts can include making someone laugh, donating used books, and planting a tree.

So far nearly 40 schools have joined the club, and more than 15,000 students have taken the pledge. The students have completed more than 300,000 acts of kindness! Connor wants kids to know that even the smallest efforts can change someone’s day.

“Holding a door for someone may seem like it doesn’t make a difference, but it goes a long way,” Connor says.
