Which Is Better: Winter or Summer?

The days are getting longer, and the weather is getting warmer. That means one thing: Summer is almost here! For many kids, summer is a time to take a break from school. They can go swimming, go to camp, or take a family trip.

Having some fun under the sun can also be good for your health. When you soak in the sun’s rays, your body produces more vitamin D, which helps strengthen your bones and teeth.

But many people prefer the colder winter weather. They argue that it’s easier to keep warm by layering on hats and coats than it is to cool down in the heat. Plus, you’re less likely to get a painful sunburn when you’re bundled up. And some kids think there’s nothing better than warming up with a mug of hot cocoa after a day of ice skating.

Also, experts point out that colder weather comes with its own benefits. For example, studies have found that some people think more clearly in cooler temperatures.

Here’s what two of our readers think.

Although a lot of kids prefer summer, I think winter is the best season. It’s exciting to get snow days off from school. You can build snowmen, have snowball fights, and go sledding.

I also like winter best because I feel healthier. During the other seasons, my allergies are really bad because of all the pollen in the air.

Plus, studies show that people’s sleep improves when it’s cold. For me, nothing feels better than getting a good night’s rest after playing in the snow.

Summer is a time to relax and take a break from the stress of the school year. You have more flexibility in your schedule for different activities. You can have picnics and barbecues or go on vacation!

The weather is also perfect for exercising outside. I enjoy feeling the warmth of the sun as I ride my bike, go hiking, or spend time at the beach.

Also, experts say that sunshine is good for our mental health. It boosts levels of vitamin D and can help improve people’s moods.
