Bear in Space
Scientists at NASA, the U.S. space agency, have been looking for signs of life on Mars for decades. Well, last December, a NASA spacecraft spotted a “bear” on the Red Planet! What looks like a bear’s face is actually an unusual formation on Mars’s rocky surface.
Scientists say a large circular crack forms the outline of the head. The eyes are two craters, and the snout and mouth are a hill that has partially collapsed. The photo was taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, which has been circling Mars since 2006.
