How would you describe snowflakes? White? Fluffy? How about calling them natural works of art! Photographer Nathan Myhrvold designed a camera with a microscope that can take close-up pictures of snowflakes. He spent 18 months perfecting the camera to capture clear photos before the fragile flakes melt. To get the best photos of the six-sided crystals, Myhrvold traveled to Alaska and Canada, where winter temperatures can drop below zero degrees Fahrenheit. 

“I hope these photos show people that there’s beauty in things they can’t see with the naked eye,” he says.
