Happy 190th Birthday!

Bring out the cake and a whole lot of candles. Jonathan the giant tortoise is turning 190 this year. The 440-pound reptile is believed to be the world’s oldest land animal.
Jonathan arrived on the island of Saint Helena, off the west coast of Africa, in 1882. He was already fully grown, which meant he was at least 50 years old. His caretaker says Jonathan might have been even older. Today, the elderly tortoise spends his days sleeping, eating, and sunbathing.
