People always ask me why I decided to make my own comics. Well, I used to get bullied in school. So I wanted to create characters who are good guys. My superheroes battle evil villains—and they always win.

Also, I noticed that few characters in other comic books were African American. I wanted to change that. I made superheroes based on my own family. The main heroes are a father-and-son team, like my dad and me. I named them Daddy Long Legs and the Inchworm.

I was inspired by my favorite comic book, Spider-Man, to use spiders and other bugs. Daddy Long Legs can stretch his legs like huge rubber bands, and the Inchworm can shrink to the size of a real worm. They battle all kinds of villains. One is an evil character called Hot Garbage, who spews trash all over the place.

It takes me about two months to create a book. I start by sketching out the characters and the story. Then I write all the dialogue. My dad is an illustrator, so he helps a lot with the final artwork. My mom helps too by editing the story and checking my spelling and grammar.

I love taking the ideas in my head and turning them into comics. My third Daddy Long Legs and Inchworm book comes out this month. My plan is to make 10 in all!
